Staying in the town of Arles in France
During your visit to Arles, you will discover Roman and Romanesque treasures such as the Amphitheater (The Arenas), the Ancient Theater, the Cryptoporticus, the Thermae of Constantine, the Roman Walls, the Alyscamps Necropolis, and the Saint-Trophime Church and Cloister. These iconic landmarks testify to the fascinating history of this Provençal city, which was once a major center of the Roman Empire.
Arles is also the hub for the Rencontres de la Photographie (Arles Photo Festival), which turns the city into an open-air museum every July, attracting some of the biggest names in contemporary photography. Modern culture is further celebrated at Luma, an art center designed by Frank Gehry, at the Vincent van Gogh Foundation, and the Lee Ufan Foundation.
Arles is also a city to savor Provençal gastronomy, wander through historic streets, and explore the wild landscapes of the Camargue. Less than an hourâs drive from Marseille or NĂŽmes, youâre already in Arles for a unique experience blending history, art, and modernity.
